I got hit by a biker for stopping at a stop sign

I got from behind from a biker because I stopped a stop sign.  I’ll be fine but sigh.

I got hit by another bike rider from behind at 17th and folsom on my way to an SF2G rollout..  I stopped at the stop sign because there was a car going through the intersection from the right.  I almost knew it was going to happen because I passed the rider after I saw them blowing through the 16th and Folsom stop light (it was green for me by the time I got to the light).

*sigh* is right.

that sucks...curious what the post-accident interactions were like?  did he blame you?

no, he was actually quite apologetic.   i just said do not worry about it but do not tail people and stop at stop signs.  or at least slow for them.

i think he was trying to keep up with me and i didn't realize he was tailing me.  or trying to draft off of me or whatever.   he didnt realize i was going to stop at the stop sign.

he was not wearing a helmet and he had in headphones.

I did almost hit a guy who stopped at that stop sign at the T intersection at townsend and 5th on my way to Caltrain years ago. He stopped pretty suddenly and I had to swerve around him because very few people actually stop there and I wasn't expecting it. The joke was on me -- he stopped because he saw the cop car on 5th who then pulled me over for running the stop sign..

I've been yelled at on the wiggle for having the audacity to stop at stop signs when there's a car / pedestrian present. Haven't been hit yet, but I can concur with the *sigh* sentiment.

this was at jfk and conservatory dr in the park which many people normally do not stop at (i havent a number of times though often slow way down) but there was a car turning left onto conservatory dr and they clearly had the right of way.

had i been a jerk to that other driver i would of not gotten hurt.

Sorry to hear that. Seems to be a rash of that recently as I was also rear-ended by another rider recently. In my case I was on Duboce between Church & Fillmore where bike lane is between the sidewalk and the Muni island; an N-Judah was stopped at the island so when I slowed down to deal with the pedestrians the person behind me ran into me.
