Friday 7/2 SF-Petaluma-(Napa|Cloverdale) 0600 GGB Style 2

Tomorrow Geoff and I will be riding North.  I'm heading for Cloverdale for the weekend and he is heading for Napa.  We will split off at Petaluma after a stop at Bovine.  I thought I would post the ride in case anyone is interested in joining.

We are leaving early from the bridge.

Pace will be tempo-ish (not all out but no dawdling as we have places to go).

How's he getting to Napa from Petaluma? I really can't advise Lakeville Highway or 116, especially on a holiday weekend.

 

Involves some solid climing but taking PetHill/Roberts/Pressley/Sonoma Mtn/WarmSprings/Trinity is scenic and safer.

 

Napa is a sucky place to ride to.

You called it.  South and around is flat, but not that cool.  

I'm doing the latter, and just for fun I'm going to add Mt Veeder onto the end so I can drop right into Browns Valley.

Great. Similarly the frontage road to 101 toward Cloverdale, ugh. I highly recommend that Bryan turn right out of Healdsburg onto Alexander Valley, left onto Pine Flat, left onto Red Winery, Right on Geysers. Eventually you'll end up in Cloverdale :)

Thanks for the tip, I have ridden Pine Flat back to Cloverdale before and hadn't thought about taking that route from Healdsburg.  I will update my route file!
