I admit to my vanity here and ask if anyone has ever successfully blacked out machined sidewalls?

I build a set of disc TK541s with rim brake hoops awhile ago, and the bike overall would indeed look quite sick/dope/lit without the shiny silver on it. I did try some brush-on Plastidip, but it didn't take, even though I prepped the surface fairly well.

Maybe an acid etching before the Plastidip? Any other products out there? I've put reflective rim tape on motorcycle wheels before, but I've never seen it in 700C shape nor know if it would adhere well.

Sorry to be unclear - it's a disc brake setup, but I built them with rims that have MSWs. I don't need a braking surface and short of anodizing them, would love to black them out. Anything pro-level and I'd rather just pick up some new HEDs.

My neighbors already hate that I have a project car, I'm sure they'd get the cops over for my 'meth rig' if I tried following that video (which is awesome).
