so this is just a reminder.

if you see dangerous and reckless driving, call 911.

if you see a hazard as a cyclist please document and contact your representatives.  make sure they know who you are.

Subject: Delivery Trucks Constantly Parking In Bike Lanes (Market Street)

Ed,

I am honestly getting tired of delivery trucks being parked in the market street bike lane especially between Gough street and 12th street.  It makes it dangerous as a cyclist.  I know that particular section of Market street was an experiment to keep people out of the bike lane.  It seems like that has failed.

Can we either get parking enforcement to start ticketing people who park there or can we get a real protected bike lane back?  Something that discourages people from just parking there?

I have attached a picture I took just yesterday of a fedex driver that was just chilling in his van parked in a bike lane.

Thanks,
Darrin

One of the downsides to the AmazonFresh culture. Think about where that truck is going to stop/park before you hit send next time.

One of the downsides to electing a puppet with no real drive to make real change: protected bike lanes, more loading zones in place of private free parking, real enforcement by motivated police. Think about that next time you don't vote.

Let's not conflate disease and symptoms. A city with excellent public transit and efficient delivery services tends to operate more safely (and cleanly) than one 'run' like an oversized suburb.

I've seen can coke deliver trucks (18 wheelers) found that. Don't blame Amazon fresh for that.

The tickets end being ignorable amounts of money. We need to tow the trucks.
