Thanks

Kibuchi,

Thanks for the report.  We will be upgrading R soon.  We will try to prioritize this and get back to you as soon as possible.

I am  running spatial temporal models on R sense platform and I  would like to check whether they are actively running.
Is it possible?

Hi Kibuchi,

The models can only run in a running dashboard. In the project overview page, in the upper right corner of the screen, there is a box that says 'Running'. If the number next to it is 0, there are no dashboards running. If the button is green and the number is positive, you can click on the box to get to a list of your project's dashboards.

Any of the dashboards that have a 'stop' button available are currently running. Click on the name of a running dashboard to connect to it, view the output of R, and enter more input if needed.

Cheers,
Anand

Also, R was just upgraded to 3.0.2. If anyone sees version problems with R packages in existing projects, you may need to reinstall them. To wipe out old R packages, do

system("rm -r R")

We recognize that this type of 'forced upgrade' is less than ideal. In the future, we'll deliver upgrades in a much cleaner way that doesn't break existing projects. Stay tuned...

Hi All,
Firstly, the computation power of Sense is immense because models which I used to run for more than three days are only taking less than four hours leading to maximum productivity.
Thanks Sense founders for creating this platform.
Secondly, I need help on how I can access my outputs when using R platform.
Example :If I use the following R command below, how can I access the Rdata and also the results displayed in dashboard

save(result_mau_res, file="mauritania_resh_461.RData")

Many Thanks,

Kibuchi

Hi,
I have noticed that I only need to download the output from my working folder
Thanks

Eliud -

Glad you're seeing speed ups.  Yes, you can download files using the link from the working directly.  We may add easier ways to download groups of files as well.  Right now you can zip up a folder like system("zip -r output.zip output") and then download the output.zip file if you have lots of things you need to download.

Hi Kibuchi,

Glad to hear that all is going well, particularly that you're getting such a large speedup even without large-scale parallelization. We use the Amazon instance type with the fastest cores, and our R installation is linked to Intel's MKL, which can substantially increase even single-core performance for some workloads.

Currently, the way to 'export' output results is to grab the link to the dashboard and email it etc. We don't have a way at the moment to export the output pane to a PDF file or the like, except the browser's 'save page as' option.

Cheers,
Anand
