Thank you Victor,

You are on target as usual. The salient fact is, those being described as  ‘ROGUES and IGNORANT’  are ‘running things’, having all the necessary wealth and power to colour their global hegemonies, and they have been doing that for a long time. They made and continuing to make, appropriate sacrifices in blood, life, finance and other means necessary, to maintain their positions. They are efficient, adapt and evolve daily, in order to maintain grip on power.

What is the power or counter of their critics? One  might well ask. Arguably, there was a secular alternative, via the Soviet Union, but it is no more. China seems to being swallowed by Capital. Cuba, with best intentions, limps on, now in the process of reforming, having starved externally of adequate and free choice for over fifty years.  Vietnam was at its best defending its national integrity. The military victory was won, but the prize  did not bring the benefits to the masses, and so, the nation reformed.

The economy of Vietnam is a developing planned economy and market economy. Since the mid-1980s, through the Đổi Mới reform period, Vietnam has made a shift from a highly centralized planned economy to a socialist-oriented market economy which use both directive and indicative planning (see Five-Year Plans of Vietnam). Over that period, the economy has experienced rapid growth. In the twenty-first century, Vietnam is in a period of being integrated into the global economy. Almost all Vietnamese enterprises are small and medium enterprises (SMEs)”.

North Korea continues to be an Experiment, and probably not yet an example to be replicated globally. The  Khmer Rouge  Cambodia’s ‘Year Zero’ Experiment started in 1975 and subsequent mass genocide fell far short of what Humanity should expect. South American nations, such as Venezuela, officially the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, struggles to pushing a socialist agenda, given daily internal and external challenges. At the ballot box, the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela lost power in December 2015.

As you suggested, “Marxist political ideology, another human intellectual property of the 19th Century lacks the length of historic timeline for socialization and acculturation.” There  had not been long enough gestation period for the flowering of its ‘ultra progressive’ promises  to Humanity, in order to demonstrate to the global masses that there was/and is a viable and lasting alternative, to a ‘roguish and ignorant’ status quo.

If we select  to challenge opponents, we must have the means and will to follow through, to final conclusion and survive. At worse, we must be strong enough to negotiate meaningful compromises; and at best, defeat our opponents. It is not necessarily productive for us to hurl paper darts and perform verbal gymnastics in the presence of those who have taken over and occupy our space, spiritually, theologically, mentally and physically.

What did we sacrifice today for the up-holding and maintenance of our  philosophical, political, intellectual, imaginary and physical ‘properties’? And, if we did not sacrifice anything today, what did we sacrifice yesterday? Or   plan to sacrifice tomorrow? Or is it that we have nothing for which to make sacrifices?

If these questions were put to any junior gang member, in our urban complexes – ‘concrete wastelands’, passing off as ‘architectural   wonders’, he is likely to have given a case study of her sacrifices, from delinquency to his current state of mind and their daily life-styles. That study is likely to have involved his survival stands against rival gang members, or ‘law enforcement’ agents. She might even show you his battle scars  or recite the names of their comrades who ‘fell in battle’. Their gains?  The retention of their self-respect, dignity, group identity and territorial integrity.  It is likely that the narrators are illiterate or near that level. But he believes that she is part of a family and therefore has purpose. That is why they make necessary sacrifices when called upon to do so, with creative zeal.  They are not afraid to alter conventions.

What potential collective sacrifice the African Union (AU)  factored in its collective medium and long term strategic planning to challenge, contain and reverse  current ‘new scramble for Africa’?  What plan is put in place by Afrikans in the Diaspora to mass educate and assist DNA orientated ‘kith and kin’  to  creating awareness among  progressive Afrikans, those at home and those abroad, to avoid being trampled like  grass under the feet of invading world powers, like elephants,  preparing for ‘a final encounter’  on the African Continent, before the inevitable and final transfer of hegemonic powers are completed from the old to the new?

Many of us are made members of a mass global audience, as that of a cinema, theatre, sports stadium or even in front of television monitors. The enemies need not have any fear about many of us. Our passive domestications  are complete. Our muzzles can be removed without any fear of contradictions. We fell in love with our subjugators. We are living the Stockholm Syndrome.

If we have no staying power – it is unlikely that we will have significant influence on the status quo. Current world religions – ‘opioids’ or not – have staying power. That  is partly the reason they are asserting material influences on world affairs and will continue to do so for a very long time.

Afrikans are capable of winning battles for Our Cause. Let us select those battles within our capabilities.  The eradication of religions might not be one of those battles, and probably not necessary, within a system  which provides for all  free qualitative and quantitative information.

Self Help,

"You will know the TRUTH and the TRUTH will set you FREE!!"; an intellectual thought of the historic Jesus is worth examination going forward.

It is 2016, some two thousand and sixteen  years of  Christian religious socialization plus acculturation of humans on earth. Islam falls into same human experience with a shorter historic time line. The teachings of the Talmud,Torah, New Testament and the Koran(Quran) are sources of human intellectual property shaping human motivations plus endeavors. "God is the gospel" and "Allah is the Hadith and Fatihya" ,all from the "inspired" mind of MAN!!

Marxist political ideology, another human intellectual property of the 19th Century lacks the length of historic timeline for socialization and acculturation. It lacks the in built permanent structures of churches, mosques, masjid, synagogues, temples etc. as weapons of mass acculturation since its inception. It gives religious metaphysics an upper hand prevailing over political ideology. Above all, where are the institutions of quantitative measurement of Marxism success today? Where is liberation theology compared to "prosperity ministry" of the Gospel Advocates?

Things had fallen apart in (Nigeria) Africa!! The Roman Catholic Church had played its historic role in Slave Trading of Africans for purpose of "Christianizing Savages" to relative cultural imperialist falsification of African consciousness via Catholic Church institutions;Basilica in Cote D' Ivoire and  40-ton Jesus statue in Ibo land confirm the scope of Christian religious priorities in outlook of some Africans. The political economics relating to these two infrastructures of choice compared to affordable housing,a hospital or clean drinking for communities add to despicable dysfunctional crimes in the name of Catholic religion.Catholic schools, universities, Clinics plus Relief Services are all fronting cover up for real serious crimes of the Roman Catholic Church. For the scope of global crimes of the Roman Catholic Church, ROGUE CHURCH, look for David Yallop's book, "In God's Name"(1999, New Press). Also check out Al Jazeerah America special report on Catholic Church, "God's Money".

The year 2016 puts many veterans of pan-African Liberation struggles in the age 60s group. It means that there are accumulated knowledge and experience over these years of reading research, agitation and organizing. It is important that we do a comparative study of the Islam and Christianity for intellectual enrichment so as to REJECT the bankruptcy of practices of these intellectual properties that IMPOSE so much misery in global scheme of things. The "Caliph of Allah" and the "Kingdom of God" are delusional opiates for the masses!! Yes, knowing the truth from IGNORANCE shall make us all FREE!!

May our love of life endowed by good health empower us all to fight all forms of oppression committed by men in the name of God , Allah or whatever deity (Orisha) in the New Year and going forward!!

Peace beloved,

VP

Greetings Joomaay,

For the record, our comments are based on the proper recognition of your, and Associates’, hard work over the many months towards your declared objectives. Self-Help News “Giving Voice to the Voiceless,” will always recognise and declare merits where they are shown. This is part of our integrity of purpose.  Conceit is not, and has never been, part of our four decade of publishing.

At the same time, we recognise that there are other Pan-Afrikan schools of thought,  traveling  the same journey. Some are moving faster than others and seem to be achieving more. Some buds flower faster than others. Hopefully, all the buds will eventually flower and add to the beauty of a progressive Afrikan Race.

We are forwarding your comments to Dr Vince Hines, the Chairman of the Afrika and Diaspora Institute (Adi),

as he was mentioned.

Continue to stand strong in the historical spirit of Afrikan self-belief.

Dear Members of the Editorial Collective of Self Help News,

We at the International Provisional Initiating Committee (IPIC) are sincerely grateful for you compliments and encouragements.  At the IPIC we always welcome Critics, whatever maybe the motivation of those who make them because these critics, ill or well intended, cause us to always STOP and review how we do things.  We always give the benefit of the doubt to those who criticize us. The IPIC has no EGO to protect.  It only has One Desire:  Create the Optimal Conditions for "Africans of the Soil and Africans of the blood"(Mazrui) who are seriously committed to do whatever is in their power to Unite Politically the African States which are mainly located on the Continent of Africa and the Caribbean Islands, to GET TOGETHER and Agree on a STRATEGY for making this happen Within Much Less than a Generation.

Dear Brothers and Sisters of the Editorial Collective,

We want to make it clear to you that the IPIC does not have a Set on Stone Strategy or Path that will lead us to the political unification of the African States.  This is why We are Calling for a Congress.  But Prior to the Congress We are determined to Hold a Meeting in  Dakar at least 18 Month Before the Date of the Congress to Produce the Preparatory Documents of this Congress.  At this Meeting we are inviting all the People who have volunteered to be Regional Coordinators and based on what I am hearing from Dakar these invitations will also be extended to all the National Coordinators..  We have also Extended these invitations to People Like Dr Vince Hines, Dr Motso Pheko, My Elder Brother Kofi Agyapong, President Mugabe, President Mbecki, Graca Machel Mandela, President Konare, Prof Leonard Jeffries, Molefi Kete Asante, Maulana Karenga, Sister Ama Mazama, Sister Colia Clark and many others.

The people who will attend the this gathering that the IPIC calls Dakar 2016 are not only going produce the Preparatory Documents for the Congress by they also decide on the Date of the Congress and Launch a Call for Offers to Host to Congress to All the African States.

This is where we are at.

Once again thanks a million.

Cheers!

Greeting Dr Agyapong

Thank you for your wise and encouraging words during 2015 and we look forward to reading and reflecting on more during 2016.

In respect to this immediate posting, we noted your appreciative comments.

We think and believe that you would agree with us when we say that  those of us who select  gods, we do so based on our choice. Some of our gods are  sun, moon, trees, wind, fire, rocks, water, animals, statue  etc. Others are concepts and ideas. Still further, wealth, beauty, power, wisdom and spirits.

Religion is ‘organised’ partly because, without organisation, it is difficult to develop and manage real power.

We are probably baffled  because we are not Catholic adherents. A Catholic might be equally baffled by our believing that our ancestors are  gods. Who is right and who is wrong. The group with the greater military and financial power, usually determined  right and wrong, in an  unjust world. This has been the experiences of the Afrikan Race, on the current journey.

Because of lack of material power, Afrikans were, and are, unable to stop others usurping, distorting and desecrating  our sacred belief systems, and, in return, using them to enslaved our minds. Afrikan Unity of Purpose should help us retrieve  what we lost. That is part of the reason there is now a rising call, and activities, focusing on “Afrikan Unity in diversity”. It is unlikely that there will be such a unity, unless we factored in our core strategy the  importance of ‘DIVERSITY’, and reject the notion of ‘African homogeneity’.   We cannot use ancient micro-nations [tribal] concepts to unite a wide and complex, deliberately balkanised, sets of highly populated and diverse modern African enclaves, those at home and those abroad.

Except we intend to embark on a programme of mass executions, we must accept that many others do not believe the same things as we do. And so, we must accommodate this reality in our progressive and liberating plans for change. Unless we learn and apply this leadership wisdom, we are likely to encounter and confront  Medusa’s Head  and its multiple and deadly serpents, symbol of our internal ignorance and contradictions, destined for self-retardations. Almost like our minds turned  to stone.

The USA is governed  on secular  basis. The fruits of which citizens are able to voice their views about believe systems. They also have freedom to worship. This is a good and healthy state. Yet the USA is viewed by many as a repressive power, within and without. Many others held opposite views.

WE must use our vast untapped intellect and compete effectively and successfully, particularly against those who are seeking to retain their deception and causing us to come more under their sphere of influence, as you warned.

WE must remove our minds and bodies from  ‘lame ducks’ philosophies and cultures of docility and subservience. WE are new Afrikans of sound thinking. A new breed of Gatekeepers to our Afrikan Racial Destiny. And where fences were torn down, we shall rebuild them. We use our past and present history and experiences to determine what we need to do now and for the future, working with others to make changes to current sphere of influence, threatening Humanity. The fight for change is not only our fight.

Constantine and his mother Helena were able to “rule the world”, because they worked with others to develop and maintained  mutually beneficial strategies and structures to do so. ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH doctrines are not under discussions here. DIVERSITY is. This is because, unless we travel this path, Afrika and Afrikan Unity is potentially a vague distant dream.

None of us has the panacea  – formula, to Afrika and Afrikan Unity. Joomaay Ndongo Faye, of the Pan African Federalist Harambe initiative and his Associates must be complimented, encouraged and given critical and constructive support in their endeavours to realise Afrikan Unity, compatible to the current needs of a modern and ever changing world. The Federalists are attempting to construct  part of the jigsaw of our Afrikan Progressive Destiny.  The same applies to others who are  planning and constructing for our African Race, now and the future. Like all good and efficient trains, each section must have suitable and compatible coupling devices, in order to accommodate other coaches/carriages   as they are ready to be coupled to the engines on our journey. WE must construct a Consensus Culture, ready to harmonise with others of the same mind set – in this case, Afrikan Unity.

A significant section of the African Race is affected by foreign belief  systems, which are deeply embedded within us, and had been so for centuries. Like drugs, the individuals so addicted, must be weaned off gradually. Otherwise we could cause serious harm. Some will not want to be weaned and likely to betray and fight us to the bitter end. Beneficial  alternatives must be offered to incentivise  the masses to start embracing positive alternatives. It’s a competition against  gatekeepers of the current status quo and geo-political order. It is not about emotions, sentiments, love or hate.

“Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will.” Frederick Douglass

On your point about mothers, all human beings, black, white, brown, yellow and red, came out of the womb of a woman, probably with the exception of a birth by  human hermaphrodites with that capability. Women’s crucial role in all races must be recognised.

Grow in health and continue to prosper.

GOD MADE MAN IN HIS OWN IMAGE. IT IS THE CHANGE OF THE BLACK IMAGE TO THE  WHITE IMAGE BY AN ITALIAN ARTIST DIVINCHI ON THE ORDERS OF THE POPE THAT BAFFLES ME.

THE EUROPEANS AND ARABS HAVE NO RELIGION. THEY STOLE THE CONCEPT FROM US AND HAVE POLISHED IT TO DECEIVE US AND WE ARE ALL FOR IT. THAT IS WHAT MATTERS MOST.

WE ARE BELIEVERS OF  CHRISTIANITY AND ISLAM BUT WE HAVE VERY LITTLE KNOWLEDGE THAT THESE ARE SOCIAL INSTITUTIONS CREATED TO  FOOL MOST OF US.

ORGANIZED RELIGION HAS BEEN SAID TO BE AN OPIUM IN THE MIDS OF THE PEOPLE. IT IS A TOOL OF CONSTANTINE AND HER MOTHER HELENA TO RULE THE WORLD. YOU BECOME THEM ONCE YOU JOIN THEM AND FORGET ABOUT YOURS. IT IS A POWERFUL TOOL.

AND BY IT THE ROMAN EMPIRE WHICH DOMINATED THE WORLD RULED THE WORLD WITH STRONG ARM WHEREBY THE POPE COULD KILL ANY HUMAN BEING WHO DISAGREED WITH HIM.

Greetings,

So what if citizens decided to erect a large sculpture of their Deity in the ground of their place of worship? Is there a law forbidding this type of sculpture  erected on private property. In this case, owned by a Catholic church. Are urban and rural planning regulations against that? Nigeria is not a Theocracy, but governed on a secular basis, where  citizens have the right to erect sculptures  and practise their belief systems. It is well-known globally that the Catholic Church governing body supports images inside and outside of their churches, which depict Christian deities and saints, etc. In Brazil, the statue, in Rio, on the top of Corcovado Hill, called “Christ the Redeemer” is one of the City’s main attractions.  Brazil has the largest Afrikan population outside of the African Continent.  Catholic belief systems have roots in Nigeria for many years. We are not homogenous in thoughts, belief systems and even deeds. That is why we should understand clearly  the term “unity in diversity’. Freedom of choice, based on the fundamental principles of  natural  ‘Rule of Law’ – universal truth and justice.

On that basis, it is reasonable to assume that within a tolerant and secular society, there will be contradictory belief systems and practices. This is an indication that the policy of ‘free association’ is working well,  including religious gatherings, worships and maintaining of religious sculptures and artefacts. In this process, we ensure always that our personal belief systems do not impede materially the collective progress of our Race.

Are we suing for a ‘united Afrika’ on religious grounds? If so, which religion will be allowed to practice freely and which will not be allowed,  in our proposed ‘New Afrika?’

Some of us are so taken up  in our intolerant certainties that we forget to reason. We prefer re-activeness and unsound analysis at the detriment of others. This approach encourages mass suspicions and  so solidify  and perpetuate our Afrikan balkanisations, and gives our  protracted detractors free reign to continue taking our real liberties, heritage and natural wealth.

Let  ‘a thousand flowers bloom’ in the garden of tolerance. If you are not prepare to recognise my right to free choice, as to what type of belief systems I might embrace, why should I recognise your right of the same? And this is the real issue today which are generating countless conflicts, harm, and pain on  humanity. If we allowed it, some of us would want to impose our way of life on others, including belief systems or the lack of them. This has been the story of the Afrikan Race, intensified during the past five hundred years. Bring to the fore our traditional quality of effective MAAT leadership.

`Error! Filename not specified.

Until all those who saw the war die, including me, we will forever cry for Biafra just like the confederates in the USA still crying for breakaway South and the civil war over slavery that ensued. Confederate flag still flies.

And the descendants of the American civil war are as passionate about the war as all Americans. Biafra flag should also fly in Nigeria to remind all Africans in general and the Igbos in particular that war brings calamities.

Biafra will never die, yes, never ever die, because of the atrocities committed against the Igbos by the Nigerian and NATO British led Army. Wherever the British are so are the American forces: Remember the Falkland wars?

I will never forget the war, never ever.

How the children suffered and how the women suffered. The suffering has turned all or most of the Igbos into Christians; Catholics especially.

Each Igbo home with an elderly woman has an alter on which they pray thus abandoning their powerful Igbo Gods that once carried them from Israel where all Africans used to live to their present location.

And now with the Abraham religion which has no powers over human beings as the African religion has, the Igbos are perpetually lost to Roman Catholicism due in part to the suffering they had during the war and the solace they received from the Catholic Church.

Oh Africa, what has happened to us. We have permitted the alien white race to depress our Africanity to a point where we have abandoned our Gods. Once you abandon your God, you are lost forever and so are the current Africans. We are lost not knowing that the more powerful God given religion from which all the religions of the world came from is the African religion.

And despite all the problems created by Britain for rejecting the Aburi accord when GOWON and Ojoku have accpted, agreed and sealed it, we have to suffer.

If you were not born to witness the war, or old enough to have seen the war, please stay out of it. Keep your book knowledge of the war for classroom discussions. It was a very serious destruction of human lives.

What is Britain to cause all Africans such a perpetual pains!!!.

Brother killing brother.

Fratricidal war.

Just like Boko Haram did in Nigeria, so did the Nigerian Military under Great Britain did to the Igbos and on top of all these anguish and anxieties, the government of Britain gave only 20 Naira to every Igbo who had bank account and had money in the bank.

No matter how much savings or checking account amounts in the bank, you were given only 20 Niara.

I was working for the US Congress with Congressman William F. Ryan, (D) from New York city 1968 -1970. I am moved to tears even now; years after the war. I am from Ghana. A sister country in Africa. The British West Africa.

What can we do but to move on. Let us move forward. Go on with One Nigeria (GOWON).  If you cannot accept yourselves as Nigerians, how do you think of yourselves as Africans?

United We Stand, Divided We Fall. One Nigeria is a must for all Africans; because for every 10 Africans, one of us is a Nigerian.

This is important in real life. The law of large numbers or accruals are real in statistics. We are one people even as we are AKATA in America without brothers and sisters: the African Americans; the Africans in America.

Join us to move forward:

The Nigerian Civil War, also known as the Nigerian–Biafran War, 6 July 1967 – 15 January 1970, was a political conflict caused by the attempted secession of the southeastern provinces of Nigeria as the self-proclaimed Republic of Biafra. The conflict was the result of economic, ethnic, cultural and religious tensions among the various peoples of Nigeria.

It was Ben Okri, the notable Nigerian writer, who said that a people are diminished by a nightmare they do not come to terms with. Perhaps it is the effort to come to terms with the awful Nigerian civil war and the agonies it unleashed that has led to the impressive spawning of books about the conflict and the circumstances that led to it. During and since the war, books have been written about the fratricidal conflict; books that tell a tale that seems inexhaustible. We will be looking into some of the books that deals with the war and the political crisis that ignited it and how and where to get them.

"Here he presented them with a statue that looks nothing like them"--Joe

Joe, your remark above represents majority view. A white man will never display a picture of a black person as something that represents them. When I saw that image credited to Nigeria in Yahoo website, I wanted to find out which state it came from. As soon I discovered it is from Imo State, I was relieved. Relieved because it is not from my dear state, Akwa Ibom State. Where is evidence that God is white?

What a gift to his people? His people who are starving, who are walking on horrible roads, who are there hoping that someone like him would help with their problems. Here he presented them with a statue that looks nothing like them.  I could not articulate better than a yahoo opinion writer who said: "White Colonialism at its best and a statue of a White God (how stupid)....."

Folks, We have a BIG problem problem!

The nine-metre tall statue of Jesus Christ carved from white marble, thought to be the biggest of its kind in Africa, is unveiled in Abajah, southeastern Nigeria on January 1, 2016 (AFP Photo/Pius Utomi Ekpei)

Abajah (Nigeria) (AFP) - Nigeria on Friday unveiled a nine-metre tall statue of Jesus Christ carved from white marble, thought to be the biggest of its kind in Africa.

Standing barefoot with arms outstretched, the "Jesus de Greatest" statue weighs in at 40 tonnes.

More than 100 priests and hundreds of Catholic worshippers attended the nine-metre (30-foot) statue's official unveiling in the village of Abajah in southeastern Nigeria.

It was commissioned by Obinna Onuoha, a local businessman who hired a Chinese company to carve it and placed it in the grounds of a 2000-capacity church that he built in 2012.

In his homily at a Mass before unveiling the statue, presiding bishop Augustine Tochukwu Okwuoma said it would be a "very great symbol of faith" for Catholic worshippers and passers-by alike.

"It will remind them of the importance of Jesus Christ," said Okwuoma.

The cost of the statue has not been revealed.

Earlier in the week, Onuoha told AFP it would be "the biggest statue of Jesus on the continent."

The 43-year-old boss of an oil and gas distribution company timed the statue's unveiling to coincide with his parents' 50th wedding anniversary.

Nigeria, Africa's most populous country with 170 million people, is split between a more prosperous Christian south and a poor Muslim north -- an occasional source of tension.

More than 17,000 people have been killed in Islamist group Boko Haram's six-year quest to create an independent state but the violence has been mainly confined to Nigeria's Muslim-majority north.

And even as Nigeria rings in 2016, the ever-present threat of violence by Boko Haram hangs heavy over the country, despite official claims that the battle against the Islamist group has been "technically" won.

"We think religions can exist side by side," Onuoha said. "We hope that people can live in harmony."

He said the idea of building a giant statue of Jesus came to him in a dream nearly 20 years ago.

And when his 68-year-old mother fell seriously ill a few years ago, she made him promise that he would build a church if she survived.
