Selenium broken in Firefox 53?

Ubuntu recently pushed out Firefox 53, and now all my Selenium unit-tests are failing with strange timeout errors. I was using Selenium 3.3.0 and Geckodriver 0.15.0, so I upgraded to Selenium 3.4.0 and Geckodriver 0.16.0, which are the most recent versions, but the same errors remain.
What are the recommended versions for working with Firefox 53? Or is this version not yet supported?

Try geckodriver 0.16.1 , released today.
