"Copy xpath" option not listed in inspect element of selenium IDE

I hope someone can help me. I was trying to identify a locator using xpath. When i right clicked on inspect element, there was no copy xpath option presented. I saw options like copy inner html, copy outer html, copy dom properties. Why is copy xpath not available? What have i done wrong?
