I have been researching if it is possible to automate a webpage with silverlight elements in it using selenium2. The only information that seems solid so for is that following:

1. silverlight-selenium is the only way to go about doing this.
2. it is very hard to capture the UI elements on a silverlight application.

Please let me know if any of you have any experience doing this, or know a solution to implementing Selenium2 testcases in C# for a webpage with silverlight.

So if anyone else lands on this thread.. based on my personal research so far there are two truly viable solutions for automation testing for Web pages with Silverlight :

Test-Complete and Telerik (both need license)

Hey there ...

If identofying objects is all you need ..

There is a free version that helps you nail down the issue of object identification  called silverlight spy.

Have a look here for  detailed steps

Cheers,

Hey

Have you tried Silvernium (http://code.google.com/p/silverlight-selenium/)? I too wanted to automate a Silverlight application using Selenium and was thinking of this option. If you have then let me know.

https://github.com/petmongrels/white or http://white.codeplex.com/

White is a framework for automating rich client applications based on Win32, WinForms, WPF, Silverlight and SWT (Java) platforms. It is .NET based and does not require the use of any proprietary scripting languages. Tests/automation programs using White can be written with whatever .NET language, IDE and tools you are already using. White provides a consistent object-oriented API, hiding the complexity of Microsoft's UIAutomation library (on which White is based) and windows messages. Only stable versions of White are released, so all releases are production-ready.
