Validation displays as the path to the driver executable must be set by the webdriver.gecko.driver

Hi,

Validation displays as "The path to the driver executable must be set by the webdriver.gecko.driver system property". 

Selenium version : 2.53

Java : 1.8.0_102

Firefox :36.0.4

Please help to solve this issue.

Not sure what you are expecting here. But going by the error, it looks like you are missing the geckodriver binary from your PATH variable.

Hi Krishnan,

Actually scripts was working fine in selenium version 2.53 , FF version 36.0.4. But suddenly scripts are not running. displaying validation as above. I have updated the selenium version to latest 3.8. Now scripts are working fine. 

But my requirement is to run the scripts in FF - 36.. So how can i solve this issue?

Selenium 2.53v had FF driver built in. After Selenium 3.0 to run any tests on FF you will need Gecko driver.
As Krishnan already mentioned setup the driver and it should work fine.
