Issues with Select2 once published

Hi, I've recently started using Select2 and I'm getting stuck when I go to publish my code.

Whilst in debug mode my drop down list is working and is formatted as I would expect using Select2. However, when I publish my code, it reverts back to a normal drop down list, and has lost all the functionality that Select2 is providing.

I've tried everything I can think of. Am I missing something?
