select2 tokenSeparators change delimiters

I have not been successful getting tokenSeparators: [",", " "] to work in select2 version 3.5.2.

I am trying to change the delimiter from a comma to anything else so that it won't break up strings with commas in them.

Has anyone gotten this to work or is this not the intent of tokenSeparators?
