seahub.log and seahub_django_request.log empty

I'm running seafile 5.0.4 all looks good except that I can not change the avatar picture and the files seahub.log and seahub_django_request.log are

empty.

If I switch the seahub to debug mode and try to upload a avatar image the system waits about 30 sec and is showing "UnboundLocalError at /avatar/add/"

the image ends up under /home/seafile/seahub-data/avatars/b/a/....../707c6c3c4052548be1d1537955891e8c_7tVGkiQ.jpg but with 0 size.

any hint where I can search for the problems ..
