Hi,
 I just installed scm-manager and everything went fine except when I try to look at repository commit / source.
 I get and Error popup :
Could not load items. Server returned status: 500

I get this message when I check the logs:

2015-06-11 11:02:52.156 [QTP791610681-19] ERROR COM.ARAGOST.JAVAHG.INTERNALS.SERVER - STDERR FROM MERCURIAL: NOT TRUSTING FILE /MNT/DATA/REPOSITORIES/HG/TEST/.HG/HGRC FROM UNTRUSTED USER ABC, GROUP ABC
NOT TRUSTING FILE /MNT/DATA/REPOSITORIES/HG/TEST/.HG/HGRC FROM UNTRUSTED USER ABC, GROUP ABC

Any idea of what might be wrong?

Found the answer myself:

Added trust to root in /etc/Mercurial/hgrc by adding:
[trusted]
users = root

then I changed my data folder owner to root.

Hi,
The repository folder and files should be owned by the user which is the owner of the scm-manager process.
