I'm using SCMManager version 1.50 and scm-activity-plugin 1.12 where I have a general question:

When I commit/publish to a repo I'm able to change "Set author" to a bogus email (see attached Change_Author_Before_commit_2.png). When I look at the activity in SCMManager I see  that it shows the bogus email address (see attached Change_Author_After_Commit.png).

My concern is that other team members can commit/publish and change the email from theirs to anyone else and I would like to be able to track that.  I've used other products in the past for git repositories and they would actually show the bogus email but also the actual name of the author.

I hope this makes sense and I could probably create a screen video of this if someone needs more clarification.

Thank you,

Jon Ware

Hello Jon,

this sounds as if you would like the activity plugin to take care of the information the pushlog plugin collects.

Pushlog stores information which authenticated user has pushed which commits to the server as this is the only information SCM Manager can asure.

If you activate the plugin the authenticated user at push time is displayed at several locations within SCM Manager (but unfortunately not (yet?) in the statistics).

Have you tried this?

Regards,
Matthias
