SciRuby - How to get started ?

Hi,
I am GSoC applicant. I am good at C, C++, PHP, Ruby and Chapel. I want to contribute in this project. Can you guide me how to get started ?

Quiet simple. To start with scientific computing, u learn Python, math and blah blah. You get so good at it, you think Ruby is just for rails and forget about it and make your living as a data scientist.
