That's a common salary for a computer programmer in the Silicon Valley (say),

In Switzerland last time I looked into it (10 years ago) an _elementary school_
teacher in a small village with only train access and no roads made the
equivalent of $92,000. I'm going there in a couple of weeks so I may update
you on it.
