Hanson is probably the most highly well-order person on the groups.
He summarizes things so other can know the context of his replies.
Once, long ago, Hanson complimented me for coming in second for the
Nobel Prize in Physics. This year, I certainly bested the European
Union for the Peace Prize. I've actually explained how by simply
having Israel get off of its holier-than-thou position following there
warring takeover of lands that had since become Palestinian, they
could defuse the Muslim hatred that is threatening all of humanity.
Read back into my threads, Nobel Committee on Peace. You should at
least give me "second prize". — NoEinstein —

Einstein's lecture?
Pythagoras? Time dilatation?
R^2 + L^2 = S^2
(c*t1)^2 + (v*t2)^2 = (c*t2)^2
t2^2*(c^2-v^2) = c^2*t1^2
t2 = t1/(1- v^2/c^2)^(1/2)

gamma = (1/(1-v^2/c^2))^(1/2)

Went this right or wrong?

Fiction is the stuff dreams are made of. The library shelves
are filled with fiction, the dream world where we can escape
our hum-drum existence of boring ghastly reality. And for
those without a library card there are movies, theatre, song
and dance, Xbox-360, religion, ANY fiction that gets us
beyond “the wheels on the bus go round and round”.
Wearing a woolly suit like any other wolf in sheep’s clothing,
SR/GR is fiction dressed in a cloak of pseudo-mathematics,
and mathematics is as mysterious to the vast majority as light
and gravity are mysterious. You and I don’t need to understand
gravity or light, Einstein did it all for us. And if he got it wrong,
well, that’s not our fault, is it? So we dream of UFOs that
defy gravity and fly on beams of light and our fiction all
sounds scientific and credible and we don’t need the wheels
on the bus to go round and round, we are all grown up now.

The real Rocket in London’s science museum, missing connecting rods:
The fictional Rocket:
The replica of the fictional Rocket:

Obvious differences:
Cylinders and pistons just above rear wheels.
Smoke box with chimney straight up.
No dome.

People believe the replica of the drawing, but the replica bears only
a superficial resemblance to the real thing, which most have never
seen.

Same with SR/GR. The fictional versions bear only a superficial
resemblance to the originals and the originals were mathematical
fiction to begin with.
The answer to why SR/GR is still so popular is: fiction will always
be popular. It’s our dream of a glorious future when we fly our
own UFOs to find life on other worlds. Star Trek here we come.

Dear Krevo: I am first and foremost a word person. Unless one
states, in words, what the constants and variables in equations are, I
just glance and look elsewhere. What you call gamma, I call beta.
The latter plots like a waterfall curve. The closer the water gets to
the edge, the more pronounced the profile curves. You can verify this
by substituting values .1, .2, .3, .4... for the 'v', and let 'c' =
1. Purely by coincidence, that beta correction allowed Einstein to
write additive, empirical equations that will plot to match the
precessing orbit of the planet Mercury. Of course, his resulting GRT
was a mathematical rather than a physics accomplishment. As a ten
year trial and error process, with precisely known orbital data,
Einstein didn't do too bad for a certified MORON with only an 85 to 90
IQ. — NoEinstein —

Androcles: You 'wax' poetic! The searching minds of science fiction
writers could benefit those in academia who can't see the forest for
the trees. One thing I don't like in sifi movies is hearing the "hum"

more about your interesting personality. The "therapy" will be good

Hello John,
Can you please tinyurl all your links. A lot of them are not
functional.
Your topics are really asking for trouble... despite that... please
fix the links.
Can you also list, in order, which ones I should read first.

Your essays "height, width and length"?? ... neeehhh...
It's their "weight & novelty" John. You should give
yourself credit every time you get a response from a
reader who does not get what you mean and cranks
himself over & because of your personal New Science.
Such Einstein Dingleberries do not pay you single dime
for your heroic efforts. So, fugg'em. With a double "g".

"My line of work"?... There is nothing to know about it.
If there is, then it is there on a "need to know" basis only.
All the details are in my Google archive under: [See: PS]

John, I never worked, not a single day, in my entire life.
I always had & have "fun and awe" in my activities.
Whenever there was the slightest smell in my endeavors
that they could be turning into "work", instead of being
"play and fun", I was out the door faster then a fart gets
out of the crotch-less panties of a fine, hot hi-class hooker

AHAHAHAHAH... No, John... Professor Paul Draper is
NOT dead. He just left s.p. last summer, possibly
for health reasons. .. Recently, a loud mouthing turd
surfaced in s.p. that called itself Fatso "Big Dog"
who lies and behaves like a laid-off 3rd grade school
teacher. Big Dog turd Fatso is not even a shadow of
Paul Draper's intellect.... Big Dog shit's belletristic

may just be a common MO of most ex-teachers, or
like the French say: "un deformation professionnel".

Sadly, there is the remote possibility that Big Dog shit
is a megalomaniac and malfeasant cyber resurrection of
PD, gone prematurely senile.

But I doubt it since PD was a very humble & extremely
patient person whom I liked and enjoyed even when
he got fanatical & caught up in the "proud grandeur of
his "shop-talk" lingo environment.
I requested for PD to resurface so that others and me
could continue with discussions like h/we had in here
<http://tinyurl.com/Paul-Drapers-Mass>
<http://tinyurl.com/Questions-on-Mass-definition>
So, I hope that the real Paul Draper will show up.
