To give you some context, SOO and CC teamed up with Wikimedia and OKFN and others to come up with this position. This position is basically to better bridge all the orgs in the open space to work together towards common ends.

You're invited to the very first event hosted by the Open Coalition and we couldn't be more excited! We'll be having a meet & greet and brainstorm session on Monday 19 May 2014, and we'd love to see you there.  All you need to bring is yourselves, and your ideas - we can't wait to meet you.  Please feel free to spread this message to all your networks,  the more people who join us, the better.  For more details, have a look below, and on our wiki. When: Mon, May 19, 4pm

Where: Wikimedia UK Offices and online.

Why? To help us start building the Open Coalition (and as an excuse to see old friends, make new ones and have a drink)
Join us in London to meet Bekka Kahn, the new co-ordinator at the Open Coalition, and get involved in building the coalition. We'll talk about improving communication, sharing experiences and start mapping out plans for the next 6 months. We'll also have a dial-in set up for those who are outside the UK, so everyone can take part.
