I'm working on discovery project for my client and I'm evaluating 5.8.29 (Open Source Edition) version of Scalr for them. The client has bunch of servers that store data on EBS volumes. I found a feature in Scalr that allows to create a new volume from a snapshot for a Farm Role but is it possible to attach an actual volume to it?
Thanks.

It's not supported. But as workaround, you can take a snapshot of your EBS volume and configure scalr to use this snapshot to provision new volumes and re-use them in case of instance replacement.

Thanks Igor. I've considered this workaround but my worry is that if farm role is deleted this volume will be deleted as well, so it is not safe. My current workaround is to attach the volume from within chef recipe. It is good enough for the moment but it would be nice to be able to do it from the GUI. If you ever consider to implement this feature in the future you have my vote :-)
