Hi,

We have a requirement to trigger custom events through our automation scripts. I was able to create an custom event using this API https://api-explorer.scalr.com/user/events/post.html but I couldn't find any API to fire it. Please let me know which API should I use to fire the event.

Thanks,
Chidambar

Hi Chidambar,

APIv2 does not yet support firing custom events, but this may be added as a future enhancement.  Take a look at our Firing Custom Events documentation on our Wiki for guidance on how to fire this custom event.  You may be able to work around this APIv2 limitation by using szradm to fire the custom event.  This can be automated as a custom script that is executed via the APIv2 call for script execution.  Keep in mind that this specific APIv2 call was recently introduced in Scalr 6.1.0 and is not presently available within Open Source Scalr.  If you would like to explore this possible solution, please contact us for details on Enterprise or Hosted Scalr which may better serve these needs.

Many thanks,

Thanks Marc.

I am trying to execute a custom script on the server using API https://api-explorer.scalr.com/user/scripts/actions/post_execute.html.
I am getting the below error,
POST /api/v1beta0/user/24/scripts/
12/actions/execute/ - 404
API Error (EndpointNotFound): The endpoint you are trying to access does not exist.

Scalr version: 5.10.21 (Community Edition)

Please let me know if I am missing anything.

Thanks,
Chidambar
