Hi,

Is anybody testing Scala source code preparation to edit in Scala IDE ?

Is it something wrong with approach:
- clone code from github,
- run eclipse command (or reuse project definitions from github in eclipse dir)
- Import in Scala IDE (and set env var SCALA_BASEDIR if needed)

Importing gets errors (linked source).
Maybe unrelated, got some NPE exceptions in project cleaning and building.

Tried with
sbteclipse 2.4.0 and 4.0.0
Scala IDE 4.2.0 and 4.1.1
github branch 2.11.x

Also, for some reason, ant does not generate distribution ("The name is undefined" )
Ant 1.9.4

Is this all just to filter out guys without enough courage ?
:-)

Thank you and regards,
Igor

Are you following the instructions in src/eclipse/README.md?

Perhaps it was fixed in https://github.com/scala/scala/pull/4791? It seems the configs in `src/eclipse` had become stale. Now that this PR was merged, you might have better luck. We (somewhat shamefacedly) don't actively maintain these configs ourselves; community help with is appreciated. (Someone extra-ambitious might figure out how to automatically generate the config, and/or how to add some sort of testing to keep it from going stale?)

Can you provide a transcript showing what you tried and the context in which this error message occurred? Just the error message by itself isn't ringing a bell.

btw, feel free to use the scala-internals list to ask questions about building Scala itself. scala-user is much higher traffic, so sometimes questions like yours get lost in the shuffle. And/or, try for live help on https://gitter.im/scala/contributors

Hi Seth,

Sorry, haven't seen your post before.
Thank you for hints, will try again and ping if needed.
