Hi all,

I have noticed that, since installing the Scala plugin and applying the Scala nature to one of my workspace projects, Java auto-complete no longer works. Not sure if it is related to the plugin or not.

Has anyone else noticed this problem? I'm using Mac OS X 10.6.3, Java 6 update 20, Scala 2.8.0, and Eclipse 3.5.2.

Thanks for your help,
Greg

Hi!

This also happened to me and my colleague. We had to manually re-
enable auto-completion under "Window/Preferences/Java/Editor/Content
Assist/Advanced". It seems this is not happening on all systems... Can
anyone explain this behavior?

Bye,
Michel

I do the reverse (diseable auto-complete) when I code scala project to
avoid useless compilation and CPU consumming.
From my understand, there is explicit diseable of auto-complete into
scala-ide code.

Auto-completion is by far not useless. Actually, if you once get used
to it Ctrl+Space will become your most used shortcut. If it is really
by intent that this feature is disabled when you install the Scala IDE
then I vote for changing this behavior.

can not be reproduced by me.  and it seem the auto-completion is not "under "Window/Preferences/Java/Editor/Content Assist/Advanced".
