Specialization for short and byte

I am working with grayscale image data, and I was surprised to find that DenseMatrix was defined as

final class DenseMatrix[@spec(Double, Int, Float, Long) V ...

with no specialization for Short or Byte.  Is there some reason why not?  Is this addition worthy of a PR?

I'd probably take it as a PR. I didn't do it historically because no one wanted it and it causes a nontrivial amount of bytecode bloat, but it's probably worth it
