I have sails running on my Mac. It's great, everything works fine. However, my entire 'real' development environment is on a Linux VM that I run using parallels on my mac. As part of a Parallels install there is a symlink that links back to the files on your Mac. So on a LAMP stack it is easy to point virtual host directories hosted on the VM back to the mac files. I am just getting started with sailsjs and cannot figure out how I would point http://localhost:1337 running on my VM to files hosted on my mac. I want to mange and edit file on my mac using Atom, Sublime etc, but need sails to run on my VM in order to have access to databases etc. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I'm probably asking the impossible. I used used remote-sync in Atom and will have to live with the fact that there are 2 sets of the same files on my Mac.

Not impossible, but not really appropriate to this forum. You need to talk to a Parallels group to figure out how to access the virtual ports on your guest image from your host image, and vice versa. It’s definitely not impossible—I used to do it with VMWare all the time. And Docker (which runs in VirtualBox on Windows) can most certainly do it.

Or else you can spend some time with the Parallels user manual: http://download.parallels.com/desktop/v6/docs/en/Parallels_Desktop_Users_Guide/31974.htm
