Customizing syntax of nunjucks template with sailsjs

I am getting a little confused with how to customise tags in salsjs templating languages.

I want to use nunjucks but the default tags conflict with angulars tags.

I have tried referring to official documentation:

But am not sure how to do this in sails context.

I have tried adding the code in the config/bootstrap.js file, and adding tags to the config/view.js file but neither of these worked.
