Should I go with prerelease v1.0 or stable v0.12?

I will be starting a new websocket-based project next month.

The project will probably be production ready in a year or so.

Since I don't want the hassle of upgrading from 0.12 to 1.0 later on, I really just want to begin developing with the current prerelease (v1.0.0-19).

Do you think this is sensible?
