Error Compiling Sage 8.0 from Source

Hi,

I received the following error message while building Sage 8.0:

Error installing package openblas-0.2.19.p0

I am running Linux Mint 18.2.

What kind of CPU do you have? It's known that openblas has a problem with some latests Intel CPUs.

I am using an Intel Core i7-7700HQ CPU.

OK, this is what they call Kaby Lake H.

You may try the patch on
https://trac.sagemath.org/ticket/23272
(it also upgrades openblas to the latest release)

Or as a stopgap, try building with the command

OPENBLAS_CONFIGURE="TARGET=HASWELL" make
