I have MacBook Pro (Early 2015) running  Sierra 10.12.6.

[gcc-7.2.0] Error installing package gcc-7.2.0

[gcc-7.2.0] If you want to try to fix the problem yourself, *don't* just cd to

[gcc-7.2.0] /Users/matt/sage/local/var/tmp/sage/build/gcc-7.2.0 and type 'make' or whatever is appropriate.

[gcc-7.2.0] Instead, the following commands setup all environment variables

[gcc-7.2.0] correctly and load a subshell for you to debug the error:

[gcc-7.2.0]   (cd '/Users/matt/sage/local/var/tmp/sage/build/gcc-7.2.0' && '/Users/matt/sage/sage' --sh)

[gcc-7.2.0] When you are done debugging, you can type "exit" to leave the subshell.

Error building Sage.

The following package(s) may have failed to build (not necessarily

during this run of 'make all'):

* package: gcc-7.2.0

  log file: /Users/matt/sage/logs/pkgs/gcc-7.2.0.log

  build directory: /Users/matt/sage/local/var/tmp/sage/build/gcc-7.2.0

The build directory may contain configuration files and other potentially

helpful information. WARNING: if you now run 'make' again, the build

directory will, by default, be deleted. Set the environment variable

SAGE_KEEP_BUILT_SPKGS to 'yes' to prevent this.

8.0 will not work with the current Xcode.
You would need 8.1.rc2 (or wait for 8.1 to be done, probably very soon).

This is still a problem with the 8.1 release of 12/07/2017.  Does anyone have a workaround?

What is the Xcode version you are using?
You do have its command line tools installed, too, right?
It worked for me (and other people) on 8.1.rc*...

I upgraded to Command Line Tools for Xcode V9.1 and Sage 8.1 now compiles.
