Just a reminder that access will be available again tomorrow for the EURASIAN BLACKCAP at 20 Tiekiedraai, Vierlanden in Durbanville from 10h00 to 13h00. Many people have been asking me about access on Sunday and next week but, at this point in time, the Halls have indicated that they would like to return to some sense of normality from Sunday, so it would appear that there is not going to be access there from Sunday onwards. Nevertheless, they have been incredibly accommodating and I would like to thank them for that again.

It's not all lost though… the bird has also been visiting at 16 Tiekiedraai recently and also seems quite comfortable there. The owner, Colin Lambourne, who is not even a birder, is not available tomorrow, but has agreed that birders can access his property on Sunday to look for the bird. He will ensure that the feeder is stocked and appealing to the bird…😊 He will open up the gate for access from 09h00 on Sunday and will close it at 15h00. Thanks very much for your willingness to assist Colin!

At this point in time, there does not seem to be confirmed access options for next week but, should things change, I will report here accordingly. So, if you are able to make a plan, this weekend would certainly appear to be the best opportunity to get to look for this bird, so please try and make use of the arrangements that have been made if possible as you may not get any others.

Also, if anyone is travelling from the Southern Suburbs tomorrow and happens to be going past the Wetton or Landsdowne area, Burke Rosenveldt is desperately looking for a lift to get to the bird. If anyone can assist, please contact Burke at 078 725 2641.

Good luck for the weekend!

Kind regards
Trevor
