AQUILA EAGLE SP. – a single bird, thought to possibly be a Tawny Eagle, seen soaring over Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens on Wednesday at about 10am. ID was not confirmed and the other large brown eagle species were not able to be conclusively eliminated, so news put out merely to make people aware and to keep their eyes open if in the area  - reported by Seth Musker.

ABDIM’S STORK – a single bird seen flying over the airfield adjacent to the N7 in the direction of Vissershok dump (Western Cape) earlier today was thought to probably be this species. An Abdim’s Stork was reported twice in early May in this same general area, so it may be the same bird that has just been hanging around – reported by Lourance Klose.

Kind regards

Trevor
