Hello fellow makers!

I will be running a station at the upcoming youth code jam event on September 24 from 1-4. My station will be teaching Arduino basics on a Arduino UNO board. The youth code jam aims to expose kids of all ages in San Antonio to coding and hardware for free! This is only possible with volunteers who are willing to generously offer their Saturday afternoon to get kids excited about technology. Kevin Baldor, my professor at UTSA, mentioned that you guys might be interested in participating. This is a great way to take what you already love doing and give back to the community. We will be using Sunfounder's starter Arduino kit to teach the basics of making hardware work, with an additional module sensor kit for kids who are more advanced to play with. If you are interested, visit the site below to sign up as a volunteer. On the volunteer form, specify that you are interested in volunteering for the fall code jam. There are lots of stations available if you'd prefer to teach another topic, and volunteers don't need to be experienced to be able to help (we need logistics help too!).

Let me know if you guys have any questions or comments I can help clear up. Hope to hear back from you soon!

Hey, Phil...  Look for my volunteer application!

While I'm still learning my way around Arduino, I'm a C and Unix programmer with 30+ years experience and a lot of training background. I'd love to help out.
