Pokemon Go - Gym/Stop @ 10bit?

I'm not sure where everyone is on the pokemon go craze but I like it and I heard you can ask for a location to become a pokemon stop or gym. (More info on Pokemon Go/Guide - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWegwTO2plk)

I think it would be another way to bring some attention to 10bit works and have people stop by and check us out.  It could also backfire and lead to unwanted folks hanging around and not particularly adding to 10bit works but at least I wanted to share that the option is there. 

What does everyone think?

Submission for Ingress portals (source for Pokestops and Gyms) has been on hold by Niantic for about a year.

With that said, I was able to submit 10bit before they stipped taking submissions. It is still in the queue, 340+ days.

There is also already a gym on the blue sculpture across the street. We may be too close to it to get an entry for ourselves.

I don't get it.  I can throw pokeballs at things to catch them, but isn't there a way to fight them?

Fight and train at the gym. I expect we will see pvp and trading in the future.

Personally I'm in favor of Pokemon Go.  Finally an app to get kids out of the house.  The next generation will have great awareness of local parks and public recreation places because of Pokemon Go.  It's also a fantastic way to introduce the world to Augmented Reality, a key Virtual Reality component.  Things can now exist in both Reality and Virtual Reality.  

However, there are growing pains.  I feel that the creators of Pokemon Go will have to act quickly in response to safety and obsession complaints, kids leaving the house at 3 AM, texting while driving, things like that need to be deterred by the game somehow.  With these concerns addressed we can expect fantastic things from Pokemon Go!  

Making 10bit a gym is a really good idea IMHO.  Just my two centavos!

Sounds like we need a pokemon go class. 

You have to get to level 5 before you can fight at gym.

Also be on team Valor(Red) :)

I don't get it.  I signed up and right away there were three Pokemon here.  But the game gave me no instruction on how to catch them.  And the music is really really annoying.  How do you catch a Pokemon?

Ha!  I agree with Les I play games and stay in alot and have been biking in the mornings now. So some exercise and gaming. 

I haven't yet tried the spots by 10bit yet. If you can reach em from inside 10bit then that should be great for classes.

Also Mission Concepcion. Which is just down the road from 10Bit has at least 3 pokemon stops and two gyms on it.

I am feeling crazy excited about this Pokemon Go phenomenon!  Finally something positive and AR related in this world.  This could be the thing that gets me out of my room and moving about.  Planning to venture out tonight after people leave.  Should be fun!  Actually, truth be told, it could be the coffee overdose from this morning but I don't think so... I'm harnessing energy from Pokemon Go!  Could be just what I needed!
