I went by tonight and as I was about to use the stop saw, being lazy, instead of bending down and grabbing the saws plug, I grabbed the cord closer to the body of the machine. As I ran my hand over it, I noticed a couple of breaks in the cable with exposed wiring. I have removed the yellow safety switch and I will email Ken with it's whereabouts and let him decide what to do. Sorry folks.

Good work. Hopefully we’ll be able to get it taken care of today.

How does the stop saw look? Fixed? Ken gave me a call earlier today looking for the safety key so I'm guessing it was. (Guess my email never went through.)

The issue was that people are wrapping the cord around the motor. Somebody hooked up the extension cord and tried to run it.

The issue being that if you try to run it while the cord is still wrapped around it, the cord rubs against the drive belt which causes the drive belt to cut into the cord.

We checked the security cameras and have identified the person in question. And the matter will be addressed privately. Our concern isn't so much with the damage but with the fact the person in question KNEW the damage had happened but didn't notify anybody.

The exposed wires have been wrapped with electrical tape for the time being, but we are thinking to replace it with a very short cord so that people can't wrap it around the motor anymore.

---____---If you know damage has occurred you are required to inform one of the board or officers about it. They will assess the damage and safety of the equipment. But saying nothing means that a damaged and potentially unsafe piece of equipment may be used by somebody un-aware of the issue.---___---
