Short notice.

I am teaching beginners’ Inkscape tomorrow night, Wednesday Mar 30, at 6ish.
That’s the free open source software that takes in a jpeg and puts out a vector graphic file, a dxf, that can then be used by the laser cutter.
And yes, I’ll be showing how to use the laser to etch the image.
So far there’s one student, she’s on a mission. Anybody else want to join in? BYO laptop and mouse.

I am joining and I am extremely happy that I found an instructor with a low and warped sense of humor - makes me feel all warm, furry and at home  :)

see you Wednesday  May 4th

or instead of cleaning that shojimain.jpg even further - I converted it to .png with transparency levels in Paintdotnet - eliminated the white - and just kept the lines - when I get home tonight I am going to throw this into Inkscape (it accepts png) / hit "trace function/ and see what I end up with

ps I had a BLAST last night - HIGHLY recommended!  and I got to watch Don while he made a significant advancement in his rubber domination costume  (he SAID he was cutting a rubber gasket for a robot but I think we can all tell where that one is going!! :) )
