As promised, Reclaim The Records has posted all the NYC marriage data we won in our lawsuit, no strings attached, public domain.  And we made a searchable website, too:

This data set isn't perfect -- the City Clerk's Office seems to have misplaced tens of thousands of entries (particularly for Manhattan 1967), they misspelled an awful lot of the names, and the formatting has issues. You can read more about that in the FAQ on the website. But hey, it's free, and guaranteed to be at least *mostly* accurate!

The microfilm half of the data we won, which covers 1930-1972, has been shipped off to FamilySearch for scanning.  Might get the data back by end of the year, but it will more likely start getting uploaded to the Internet Archive in January.  More info:  http://us11.campaign-archive1.com/?u=5f700fdc65a51d3813e67dab2&id=1d3d028591&e=8bd0102c13

Enjoy!

Brooke

Thanks for making this data freely available and also converting it into different formats so that it is ready for use on other sites.

Keep up the great work.
