Failing test due to java.lang.SecurityException: Prohibited package name: java.lang

Hi everyone. I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I am using Robolectric to test an Android Studio project. Things were going fine until I wrote some test to validate my xml parsing with the SAX parser. I get this stack trace. I found references to older issues in groovy on osx (I am on mavericks), but I don't get the issues with groovy, just running the test. Any pointers are appreciated.

Encountered the same issue,
First if you use the android-all-4.4_r1-robolectric-0 version then you won't have "Prohibited package name"  - which comes since in the packages there are java.lang files which are classes that aren't allowed in user libraries or code.

Sadly that won't solve your problem, I think the issue is that the packed XML lib is made for Java7 and android works only with Java6.
