Hi there Alex,
From my limited knowledge about STAR alignment algorithm, seems that the concept of MMP does not allow mismatches in seeds.
Right? (This is to double check with you.)

Hi Parastou,
you are correct - STAR seeds (Maximally Mapped Prefixes) are exact matches.
