Hi,

I am new to ResourceSpace and have a specific question.

Is it possible to create a link to a resource that is stored in the ResourceSpace so that the link would include log in credentials?

Example video file called film.mp4 is stored in the server.

I would need to create a link to our intranet to this film so that who ever clicks the link will be logged in and is able to see the film.mp4. So the link would have to include the username and password within the URL.

Something like this:

Is this possible?

Cheers,
Rene

You can share resources by creating a publicly accessible link, and you can create an auto login user for specific IPs or IP ranges.
Beyond that, not to my knowledge, at least.

Bye,
   Axel.

If you plan to share many resources you could also consider sharing a collection externally. This would allow for the URL to stay static while also giving access to multiple files.

Why would you do that? That is pretty unsecure way of passing credential data. You can instead create oauth type mechanism where you can authenticate users. If you have to absolutely pass the user and password try pass it through the headers

I would like to use resource space as a tool for uploading and searching for photos, but i need to use them from other pages (like ebay and other) trough the URL.
Is there a possibility to configure resource space like that?

Hi Pawel,

The embed document plugin might be what you are after, there is also an embed video and embed slideshow plugin available which allow external access for presentation and display of resources externally.

Kind Regards

Jethro
