Duplicate fields on upload (edit.php)

Hi everyone, 

A user is reporting duplicate fields on the metadata form (edit.php). It's not happening all the time, it just happened a couple times and everything has been working normally.

I'm certainly going to check the code mentioned there but I wonder if anyone else has stumbled upon this more recently. I'm attaching a screenshot of the problem. I'll post steps to replicate the issue if I can figure them out.

Sometimes it happens on my installation too.

(RS 6.2, Ubuntu 12.04)

When I edit caption, the caption field of this special resource comes up twice.

I've heard about this as well but I can't seem to reproduce. The user who complained about this said he was clicking on upload from edit.

Also, are the duplicated fields required in your case?

Happens on our system too sometimes 5.3.10-1ubuntu3.11 Unable to replicate, appears random.

in my case there are no required fields.

Just happend again, when I was editing caption of a resource (jpg).

But only once and I couldn´t replicate it.

May be it has something to do with the auto save when you leave the edited field interfering with save button?

This two fields are then shown whenever the resource is called.

When I delete the information in one of the two caption fields, the second is then empty too.

So does the duplicated field appear while you are on the edit page and filling in the form or after loading edit page you get duplicated fields?

In my case:

1. Edit resource

2. changing datas in caption field

3. Save

--> the page closes, going back to the resource page

--> there some fields are shown: Caption, keywords, copyright

when "duplicate fields" happen, then this field is shown twice.

Going back to Edit Resource, this field is then shown twice too.
