Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has given any thought into creating a plugin that would allow a user to share a resource (video) on Social Media, Ie. Facebook? Much like you see on other sites.

Ofcourse not every RS installation want to share their content, but for some of our installations it would be a great thing for our users.

Cheers,
Andy

There are plugins available for Youtube, Flikr, and Picasa. Nothing specifically for facebook AFAIK.

Anyone who would be interested in helping out with programming an option for sharing a resource to Ie. Facebook or Twitter?

Here's my thinking:

When an external or internal share has been created and browsed to (the url), below the Resource Tools and original MOV file, it would be nice to have a link that says, generate url for social media. When clicked it simply generates an URL that the user can copy and paste into facebook or twitter or similare. This is ofcourse for the preview file and not the original file.

How about that?

Cheers,
Andy

We are interested! Would you be able to sponsor such work?

Yes most likely (I need to talk to my client) depending on how much it would cost. Any rough idea?

We'll write you privately to build a detailed specification before providing a quote.  The Facebook SDK has a lot of features!

Hi Andy -

This doesn't look as if would be very hard for a basic photo or URL type post.

I am sure a qualified developer could do it rather easily.

This is functionality I'd be interested in too. Well more acurately the ability to actually share an image online, be it in a blog, on social media, or on forums.

Just something like Flickr's or Picasa's share share button and similar options would be be great.
