One of our gerrit systems was recently updated to 2.13.1 and a new
configuration key of gerrit.serverId which appears to be a GUID is
getting generated on service start. There's no documentation as to what
this key is for, nor what form it can be. This makes it really difficult
to manage the configuration with something like Puppet in a sane manner.

What's the point behind it and can it be something _other_ than a GUID
because otherwise my current puppet module is not going to be able to
handle this cleanly.

Eventually we want to be able to federate changes between servers, so we need to store an identity somewhere to be able to identify a particular server. I guess we got a little ahead of the game by generating this before we really start using it, sorry about that. You can put whatever you want in there.
