What does "switch to Python 3" mean? I think Repo supports Python 3
(numerous patches to fix incompatibilities were submitted last fall)
but I'd expect ditching Python 2.x support is far away.

As of [1] Python 2.6 or higher is required. This is part of the series of commits, mentioned by Magnus, towards Python 3 support.

I haven't tried to use repo with Python 3 so I don't know if there are still incompatibilities. If you have found any, please report them on the issue you referred to.

I meant supporting python3 rather than switching to it completely, my bad.

Anyways, it doesn't work as it is with python3 (I have python 3.3.0 installed on my system)

I've uploaded a patch to fix the imports [1] for a start, but repo still doesn't work with python3.

While this doesn't work with python3 yet, I've been testing each patchset with python 2.7.3 before uploading it, to ensure that it doesn't break older versions.
For python3 support, I'm referring 2to3(lib2to3) and python docs
