unable to start daemon

OS: AIX 7.2
JVM:
java version "1.8.0_144"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 8.0.5.0 - pap3280sr5-20170905_01(SR5))
IBM J9 VM (build 2.9, JRE 1.8.0 AIX ppc-32 20170901_363591 (JIT enabled, AOT enabled)


What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.
gerrit.sh start
Starting Gerrit Code Review: FAILED
2. manual run
git@nimmsag:/opt/gerrit/inst/bin > export JAVA=/opt/gerrit/java/java8/jre/bin/java

Error: could not find libjava.so
Error: Could not find Java SE Runtime Environment.

but its definitely there..

git@nimmsag:/opt/gerrit/java/java8/jre/lib/ppc > ls -l libjava.so
-r-xr-xr-x    1 git      git          349379 Sep 15 2017  libjava.so

any hints to get this running?

Hey,

I found this: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/ENTESB-3734 which seems to picture a similar issue.

Can you try without the ‘exec’ bit? Simply run ‘java -jar /…../gerrit.war daemon -d /opt/Gerrit/inst’

hmm...not sure...it tries to startup than exits to shell.
