Media Player 11 for win 7

Here is a real weird one for the group. I cloned some hard drives with Win 7 Professional, and media player was corrupted. I removed it from all programs, rebooted, and tried to reinstall Media Player 11. The message I get is that "this is not a valid windows or MS Dos based program". Anyone else ever come across this?
