Hi Everybody,
For those of us following the digital inclusion/digital divide field, one of the very few primary researchers in that area,
Dr. Robert Fairlie of the University of California, Santa Cruz, has come out with a new study. Find it attached. In it, he finds that the U.S. digital divide has not been bridged and remains as large as it was two decades ago. African-Americans and Latino-Americans are less likely to use the Internet on smart phones, computer, tablets or other devices than are whites. In other words, our work to supply affordable IT devices is as relevant and critical as it has ever been.
The attached study is not yet posted online anywhere, but Dr. Fairlie told that it'd be OK for me to post it here so you can cite it in your grantseeking.
