Bad idea???

So I was thinking to myself “self, I bet some customers are going to scratch off those “lottery ticket” type COAs to reveal the activation code and will damage it and won’t be able to activate their computer.”  We received our first one today L.  I’m guessing this won’t be the last one we’ll see.  Is there any way to get the activation code off their damaged/scratched COA?
