Front End Application Developer
 
SpareFoot is looking for a senior level Application Developer.  You will be responsible for implementing our highly trafficked self-storage websites and internal web-based applications. You have a passion for making great products where form equals function. You should be comfortable working in an open-ended environment where roles are flexible, everything is always changing, and communication is essential. You'll be part of a small, nimble team of designers and developers who love solving hard problems.

As a developer at SpareFoot, you will:
  • Be responsible for delivering elegant and maintainable code.
  • Work closely with a cross-functional team of developers, designers, and devops engineers to produce high quality web applications.
  • Participate in Scrum estimations, daily standups, and sprint retrospectives.
What you need to bring to the table:
  • 5+ years experience developing web applications
  • Computer science degree or equivalent experience
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in JavaScript, jQuery, responsive HTML and CSS
  • Experience with JavaScript Frameworks: Backbone.js, Angular, Ember, React, etc
  • Expertise in front-end routing, client-side templating, and consuming JSON-based RESTful APIs
  • Proficiency in PHP and one other object-oriented language
  • Familiarity with common software design patterns
  • Passion about producing elegant, maintainable code
  • You when the quick and dirty solution is appropriate and when it’s not
  • Ability to interface with business stakeholders and engineers
Bonuses - Have you worked with any of these technologies?
  • Experience with MySQL and general relational database concepts
  • Testing and continuous integration: Selenium, PHPUnit, Hudson/Jenkins
  • PHP frameworks: Zend Framework, Symfony, CodeIgniter
  • NoSQL: Solr / Lucene, Memcache, Couchbase, ElasticSearch, Cassandra
  • Amazon Web Services: EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, ElastiCache
  • Design experience
