Greetings! We have an exciting opportunity for Senior Magento PHP Developer who is seeking a full-time, on-site position based near Austin, Texas. We’re looking for a passionate Magento Developer with ideas that are unconventional, fresh, and smart. You have a hands-on get it done attitude and never hesitate to roll up your sleeves in an instant to show a team member how it’s done.
You won’t miss the traffic or the bureaucracy found in large companies in big cities. We are located in Georgetown, just 30 minutes from downtown Austin. We offer a fun, cozy, and laid back environment that’s dog friendly. We’re a 10-12 employee firm that focuses on helping mid-size companies launch new products and grow sales, usually exponentially.
As the subject matter expert at Spindle 360, you are the ultimate owner of eCommerce development. Duties would primarily consist of developing new projects built using the Magento platform, writing custom extensions, identifying quality community extensions, and architecting new Magento deployments. Applicants will be expected to provide examples of work, if available, and may be asked to complete a coding challenge.

Basic Requirements:
Minimum of 3-5 years PHP web development experience
Minimum of 3 years real-world e-commerce experience with Magento development in the last 2 years
Firm grasp of Git-based source control

Experience working with agile methodologies
Proficiency with PHP5 and MySQL from an OOP perspective

What You Will Be Doing
- Installation and configuration of the Magento eCommerce platform (Enterprise and Community Edition).
Development of custom ecommerce modules and custom functionality using object-oriented PHP.
Building and maintaining websites, applications and pages for various clients.
Platform optimization to improve performance, speed and efficiency.
Focusing primarily as a backend programmer, but occasionally assisting in some front-end development as well.
What You Need for this Position
- Strong problem solving skills.
3+ years of PHP programming experience, including experience building object-oriented websites in PHP5.
2+ years of proven Magento experience.
Previous development experience using the MVC architecture
Proficient in writing SQL queries
Ability to setup and maintain web server configurations, particularly Apache/MySQL.
Ability to interface with databases via abstraction layer
Knowledge of different web servers and reverse proxies (Nginx, Varnish)
Knowledge of key value stores (Redis, Memcached) a plus but not required
Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB also a plus
