Question about keepalive settings

I've change the tcp-keepalive setting to 30 seconds. Using the python REPL, i used redis-py to send an infocommand. I thought that after 30 seconds of inactivity, redis-server will send a keep-alive packet(ACK packet without data). However, i cant see any keep-alive packet using wireshark. Is my assumption correct?
